This is a 100% natural liquid soap base made from coconut oil, palm oil and olive oil, with no SLS, no SLES and no parabens. It is the raw material used to make your own hand soap, shower gel, shampoo or facial cleanser at home or for your small business. Simply dilute with water and add your own scent, colour or oils.

What Is a Liquid Soap Base?

A liquid soap base is a concentrated, unscented soap concentrate that you can use it own its own or dilute with water to make your own finished soap product. Craftiviti's version is made from pure vegetable oils (coconut, palm and olive) with wheat protein and natural starches, and contains no SLS, SLES, parabens or alcohol. It comes as a thick, golden liquid and turns clear and watery once mixed with water.

What is in the soap base?

The formula contains coconut oil, palm oil, olive oil, oleic acid, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, wheat protein and myristyl lactate, with corn and potato starches.

How to use

Foaming hand wash or body wash

1. Mix 10% to 30% soap base with filtered water, depending on how thick or mild you want the final product.
2. Optional: add 5% to 10% carrier oil (such as jojoba or sweet almond oil) for extra moisture.
3. Optional: add up to 1% essential oil for scent.
4. Stir gently until fully mixed. If making a batch to store for more than a few days, add a preservative to keep it safe to use.

For Shampoo

Dilute 15% to 20% soap base with water, then add 5% carrier oil to help condition the hair and scalp. For a longer storage, add in 1% of Natural Preservative.

For Facial Cleanser

Dilute 10% to 15% soap base with water for a gentler mix, suitable for daily face washing. For a longer storage, add in 1% of Natural Preservative.

Texture and scent

The undiluted base has a rich golden appearance and a naturally occurring raw scent. It becomes thinner when diluted because no artificial thickener is added. The natural scent rinses away and can be adjusted with a suitable fragrance or essential oil.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as Castile soap?

No. Traditional Castile soap contains different ingredients. This liquid soap base uses a blend of coconut, palm and olive oils.

Is the liquid soap base scented?

No added synthetic fragrance is used. The base has its own natural raw scent from the ingredients.

What can I make with it?
