Crafti-Latex is Craftiviti's special liquid latex (vulcanized latex), made in Malaysia for special effects makeup, mold making, and casting applications.

Latex, also known as liquid rubber, is one of the most essential materials for special effects (SFX) artists around the globe. It is used to create realistic fake skin, wounds, scars, blisters, burns, wrinkles, aging effects, and alien or zombie features — commonly seen in the entertainment industry, movies, video shoots, and stage or theatre makeup. Made from natural rubber, Crafti-Latex hardens when exposed to air. It can be brushed onto prosthetic molds to create body parts such as masks, ears, noses, and more.

How to Apply Crafti-Latex for Makeup

• Shake the bottle well and leave it open for 5 minutes to vent out the ammonia.
• Remove hair or apply a thin layer of Vaseline onto skin to stop hair sticking to the latex.
• Apply one thin layer of Crafti-Latex at a time with a brush or sponge.
• Let it dry before applying the next layer.
• Build your desired design using simple materials such as cotton, tissue, or wool (see video for more ideas).
• To remove, gently peel away and wash with soap and water.

How to Use Crafti-Latex for Mold Making

• Dip the master object into Crafti-Latex, or brush it on.
• Let it dry.
• Repeat the dipping or brushing process until the latex layer is thick enough.
• Peel away from the master object.
• The mold will be an exact replica of the master, capturing all the fine details.
• The mold is strong and can be reused many times.

How to Remove Crafti-Latex from Skin

• Gently peel the latex layer away.
• Clean the area with a light soap and water solution.

• Crafti-Latex is non-toxic and safe for direct skin use, but is not suitable for those allergic to latex, ammonia, or sulphur.
• If unsure, do a patch test first.
• Keep out of reach of children, hair, and clothing.
• Do not consume.

Storage

• Store in a cool, dry, and dark area.
• Keep the lid on at all times. Do not expose to air or water.
• Shelf life of natural liquid latex is 3 months once opened.
