  • Long burning time
  • Low soot
  • Biodegradable
  • 100% vegetable origin
  • Tested by professional candle makers

Our palm wax can be used 100% in any candle making projects. However, it can also be blended with other waxes for a more unique look, or to improve scent retention and burning time. Popular waxes to blend are beeswax, paraffin and soywax.

Tips

  • Use only candle approved dyes to ensure no toxins will be burnt during use
  • Use safe candle fragrance oils to ensure scent is safe for breathing in
  • Do not add plant powders, uncertified coloring powders that may be toxic or inhibit burning of flame
  • Never shut a candle with water, blow out the fire or cover flame to starve off oxygen
  • Using a good quality wick will ensure even flame, low soot and harmful residues
  • Make sure any botanical decorations are away from the wick so it will not catch fire

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDLE MAKING:

  • Glue the wicks to the bottom of the jars/containers.

  • Clip the wick upright with a plastic clip at the top of the jars/containers.

  • Heat wax direct over a low fire or in a double boiler.

  • Be careful not to overheat the wax.

  • Stir occasionally (overheated wax will discolour and/or burn your wax).

  • Remove wax from fire and allow the wax to cool down for 5 minutes.

  • Add colour to your liking. Adding too much colorants can inhibit the burning of the flame so adding less is better then conduct a burn test.

  • At 65°C add in fragrance or essential oil at (Oils will evaporate if the wax is too hot)

  • Stir and mix gently.

  • At 60°C gently pour the wax into jars/containers.

  • Allow the wax to set at room temperature and let it cure for 1-2 days into a crystallized look.

To clean up your tools and pot is to wipe them out with a paper towel and spray a little rubbing alcohol while they are still warm.

We suggest to experiment with a small batch to get the right scent and look for your candle. Add variations by doing different coloured layers or combining different waxes together.
